5 likesHi there! I've just pushed out an update to Deathrun adding some new stuff like geo trails, old Raid skins and a bunch of new maps. Also in this new update is a bunch of changes and fixes for problems you've all reported. For more information, check the changelog: Aside from the update I wanted to also put out a quick roadmap for the near future. In order, my current priority is: Slay V3 Raid Promod Raid Fun/High Jump Raid Surf update (new customisation including some of the stuff that was added to Deathrun and possibly some other new stuff) Leaderboard frontend overhaul and integration with Deathrun (currently https://raid-gaming.net/surf/) Hope to see you all on the server! 5 likesMerry Christmas and a happy new year! Due to time constraints and me being generally preoccupied with college and other work lately we won't have a big holiday event this year. What we will however do is grant everyone 2 days of VIP, starting 24/12 at 4PM GMT until 26/12 at 4PM GMT. This will be for both deathrun and surf (since our VIP system isn't tied to a specific server). Additionally, 2x XP will be enabled on deathrun from 28/11 at 10PM GMT until 30/11 at 12AM GMT. I promise to make up for the lack of special events next year (plus we have a mapping contest coming in ~2 weeks).

5 likesDue to the fact that the Raid Deathrun mod does not allow you to devmap, I thought I'd make something here for anyone having trouble devmapping. It is originally called deathrun_sxk made by sxk. This is a slightly modified version, as I've tweaked a few things, but thanks to him. Unzip it and put it in your Cod4 Directory/Mods folder. (If your game is through steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 4) Once it's in there, you can simply load the mod in game. Once you're in the mod, you can type the following into the console: Obviously, change <mapname> to the name of the map. Example: It's that simple!

I was an old admin of Raid but left and ghosted into the merge with PxG. I had to make a choice between here and full time studies at college and work and unfortunately the result meant that I had to leave some good friends and a great community behind. 4 likesHi there and welcome to 2019! We've got lots of exciting things planned but for now we're kicking off the new year with a deathrun mapping competition! Deadline and submission All maps must be submitted by 11:59PM GMT on February 17th. Submitting a map is done by creating a topic in https://raid-gaming.net/forum/31-community-content/ with screenshots/info/whatever of your map and a download link. Your topic title should start with "[Mapping Contest]" to differentiate between contest submissions and regular content. Prizes Right now the prizes are as follows: 1st place: 3 months of VIP 2nd place: 2 months of VIP 3rd place: 1 month of VIP I'll probably throw in a 15-20 EUR Steam gift card for first place if enough people show interest. If anyone else wants to contribute to the prize pool, hit me up. Rules You must be able to finish on 190 speed with a speed scale of 1.0 (why else would you be entering this competition?) Your map must have a working endmap trigger Your map must make use of the trigger list method for trap activation XP (if anyone doesn't know how to do this, hit me up and I'll write up a quick tutorial) Broken lightgrid or failure to compile reflections = disqualified (no one likes a broken map) No custom weapons (for the love of god, can people please stop doing this?) 4 likesReal name: Jay Age: 18 Previous experience: TwS Admin, owned 4x3, was a high admin on IceOps, a manager on pXg, and a previous Server Admin on Raid. Why I would make a good addition to the team: I've been playing deathrun for as long as I can remember now, and I know pretty much every glitch on every map. I know exactly what to look for when it comes to glitches, exploits, cheats, etc. I've been administrating and managing different servers and communities for so long now, it almost feels like it's second nature. Even though I haven't been a part of the staff up to this point, I've been picking up player tendencies, mentally noting specific glitches that are quite common, etc. This will allow me to look out for these things if I'm accepted. Another quality that I'd like to think makes me a good addition to the team is the fact that I've never been known to abuse my powers. It's a huge turn off for new players if the server's admins are running around abusing their power, so I've tried my best over the years to handle every situation differently and act accordingly. How often do you visit our forums?: Every day. In-game name: Synd / TheHumble_J (I have 50 hours as Synd, around 20 as TheHumble_J, so you'll see synd more often.) B3 CID (type !regtest in game): @1274 Steam: Knowledge of B3 (on a scale of 1-5): 5/5. I don't know specific commands that are 60+, but I don't currently need to know those, and those wouldn't take long to learn regardless. Primary server: Deathrun. How often do you play on our servers?: Every day.

3 likesAs many of you may have noticed, steam recently had an update for CoD4. The update was intended to fix a pretty bad expoit with overflow limits but instead caused more issues than it solved. To fix this issue Download the new CoD4 exe file from Google Drive or from the attachments bellow Open a new Windows Explorer Window. Go to your "Steam" folder (Which is likely in "C:\Program Files(X86)") then click on "steamapps" then "common" and then "Call of Duty 4". Here you got to your CoD4 folder. Then simply drag and drop the new .exe into the games directory and let it replace it. For more info on this issue you can read go here iw3mp.exe

3 likesThat title though... First things first, no I'm not going to kill off Raid anytime soon (quite the opposite, actually). As everyone is well aware, our servers, forums and Discord haven't exactly been the most active. As a result, I've been wanting to diversify our community a bit, introduce new games and generalise it a bit more rather than just "we host servers". In this post I'm going to be laying out my current plans. Anyone is free to give feedback and introduce new ideas (any help is welcome, I want to see this community shine like it used to). Game/Community Hubs Hubs will act as a place of discussion for a game. They'll be run by Community Managers (more on these further down the post) who will moderate, organise events etc. Since we can't just create a hub for every game in existence, I want people to actually come forward and request to add a new hub when they have a group of people interested in said game. We'll have a dedicated section on the forums for hub requests with clear instructions on how the process is handled. Community Managers If these changes are effective and bring in more people, we're going to need some people to manage each hub. This is where Community Managers come in. These individuals would be community-elected (we into politics now bois) and serve as the primary administrators of their respective hub. They can run their hub as they wish, so long as they listen to the community of said hub. Basically, they're like moderators of a subreddit, for those familiar with Reddit. Discord The Discord server will get a serious overhaul to be more in line with the whole hub thing. We don't want to make it too crowded though (not have 100 different text channels for a singular game) so we'll have to impose limits on hubs based on popularity and the type of game. You'll be able to assign yourself groups through a bot based on what hubs you want to be in. Once you're in a hub's group you'll be able to see the channels related to the hub and partake in discussions and events. What of the servers? Our CoD4 servers will continue to be run as normal, nothing really changes here. However, once the overhaul of the leaderboards, servers page and Echelon are done, we might start putting up servers for popular hubs. More details once we're actually ready for it. So yeah, let me know what you think. If you have any ideas worth sharing, don't hesitate. All of your opinions matter to us, we want to provide you with the best possible community experience we can. I've attached a poll to the post so we can get a bit of an overview on the amount of people that like/dislike the idea. If you vote (especially if you vote no), we'd really appreciate if you also explained your choice. As a final note, I'd like to thank everyone that's been there with us up to this point. You've all been wonderful and it means a lot to me that there's people who genuinely care a lot about our community.

Features a full on Easteregg with a fully scripted and animated boss, toggleable flashlights, playable organ and so on The huge building is based on an old phosphate factory near me, where movies like The Hunger Games, Monuments Men or Inglourious Basterds were filmed. 3 likesBeen fucking around long enough on this, so might as well. Real name: Morgan Age: 19 Previous experience: Owned multiple communities, in the past, was a respected admin on pXg for over a year. Got up to Senior Admin and had 100 power in-game for multiple months there. I would go on here but those with deciding votes (@atrX and @Anti) know of my previous experiences as an admin as much as anyone. Why I would make a good addition to the team: Sensible, but not too serious. My mood doesn't change for some reason, I can have a joke you fucking stink slaya, whilst also maintaining the standards of a good admin. I won't bore you with all the stuff about because I am a good admin because I like Raid blah blah all of that is implied, all I can say is that I will do my part as an admin of raid to grow, and protect the server from nibbas who try breaking the rules. How often do you visit our forums?: Daily, although no fucker ever posts except for Slaya myself (sometimes). 2 likesHello, Just wanted to say Hi! well i've come to this website cause of some video's i've watched recently (CoD4 Deathrun) and remembered the good old times on Raid Deathrun and i've looked through the names on the Member list and all of that.. theres 1 name in particular that i remember from back then and thats Anti. dunno if hes the one i remember, but i guess so, cause i've only known 1 guy named Anti hahah (its really awkward for me to even type anything here) *awkwardness intensifies* back then i was like 16 and i remember that i was one of those people that were actually able to finish evry map and there were only a few back then (im now 22) so yea... thats already 6 years that have passed since then... haven't been able to install CoD4 again as i lost my CD but i still have the CD-Key but i wont download the game via a shitty junk-site just wanted to ask if theres any1 here that still remembers my Name, from 2012/2013 around that time... who knows... all i can say that its probably more awkward for me to even write anything here than it is for anyone of you to read it hahah. but i'll give it a try and ask if theres anyone who remembers my name. its fascinating that Raid is still alive after all these years that have passed since then... cause back then people were already like: "yea, Raid is going to die soon" there were even people leaving their admin-position cause of some weird reasons and all cant really remember any name from back then... as i've seen so many after all these years... nostalgia hit me around 2 days ago and if no one remembers me, thats fine... cause its already about 5-7 years that have passed and you guys have probably all seen so many names that its too hard to remember. so yea... here i am being the awkward girl that i was back then hahah

2 likesHi there! Figured I should probably rewrite this guide so people can make maps if they want. Prerequisites Latest Local Play/Developer Build: https://www.moddb.com/mods/cod4-surf-mod/downloads (once extracted, ignore the last line of the README.txt, as CoDScript is no longer up, simply run "Local Server.bat" and connect to the server using "Play Surf.bat") Alternatively, set up a local server using the source code: https://github.com/atrX/CoD4-Surf (Advised if you want to use newer developer features as the Developer Build is rarely updated, certainly not a requirement however) Mapping Making a surf map is relatively easy and requires no scripting if you keep it basic. Setting your map up to work with the mod relies heavily on the use of KVPs (key-value pairs) in Radiant. I'll go over all the necessary components first and then list any other things you can make use of. Spawns Surf makes use of regular mp_dm_spawn entities. You can place as many as you'd like, but you'll need at least 1. You can also provide a spectator point using an mp_global_intermission entity. Start Zone The start zone is required to know when to start the timer (it starts as soon as you leave this area). The start zone should be a trigger_multiple with the following KVP: targetname trigger_startmap You should only ever have ONE start zone! End Zone The end zone is required to know when to stop the timer (it stops as soon as you enter this area), and thus finish the map. The end zone should be a trigger_multiple with the following KVP: targetname trigger_endmap You should only ever have ONE end zone! Teleporters Teleporters are used to teleport players around the map (e.g. when they finish a stage or when they fail a section of the map and need to be respawned somewhere). Teleporters consist of two components: triggers (the area you enter) and script_origins (where you'll be teleported to). Generally your triggers will be of the type trigger_multiple, but any other type will also work. It depends on what you need. Every teleporter trigger should have the following KVP: targetname trigger_teleport As you can see, the teleporter in this screenshot has another KVP: target auto2 The target is the targetname of whatever script_origins are linked to this teleporter (thus, the places you'll be teleported to). You don't have to enter these manually, these will be automatically generated when we start adding script_origins and link them to the triggers. Next we'll add a place for this trigger to teleport us to. To do this, we spawn a script_origin. Now, to link this script origin to the trigger we made earlier, all you have to do is first select the trigger, then select the script_origin and then press W on the keyboard. This will automatically give the script_origin a generated targetname and give the trigger a target pointing to the script_origin. You can link as many script_origins to as many triggers as you'd like, there is no limit on either. Beware that an entity can only have one targetname and one target, meaning that you can only link multiple script_origins and triggers together if they actually belong to the same group that will teleport to the same places. Boosters (Incremental) Incremental boosters will add predefined amounts to the player's velocity in a certain direction, speeding him up (or slowing him down in the case of negative values). To make a booster, make a trigger_multiple and give it the following KVPs: targetname trigger_boost target x y z The target values, x, y and z, should be replaced with the desired speeds in the desired directions (you'll have to play around with these to find a value you like). Boosters (Scaling) Scaling boosters are made in the exact same way as incremental boosters (except for the targetname used). However, unlike incremental boosters, they multiply the player's velocity with the amounts defined. targetname trigger_speed target x y z Using this, you can make a trigger that, for example, simply doubles a player's horizontal speed using: target 2 2 1 No-Hop Zones A no-hop zone is an area in which bunny hopping is limited to speeds <= 320 (going above 320 will put your speed back to 280). These can be useful in case you want people to start your map (or stages) from a standstill. To create a no-hop zone you simply make a trigger_multiple covering the area you want and give it the following KVP: targetname trigger_nohop Scripting Making a basic surf map requires practically no scripting. All you really need is this basic template: main() { maps\mp\_load::main(); level.surfDifficulty = "easy"; // Options are: easy, intermediate, hard } You can add much more if you'd like, but make sure your maps runs without a hitch and always test using developer 1! Maps with bad quality scripts will not be added to the official server as they can cause server hitches resulting in lag (which would be detrimental to the user experience as movement is entirely server-sided and thus suffers badly from lag spikes). 2 likesReal name: Thomas Age: 21 Previous experience: Admin on multiple servers, been around as high staff in managing clans (not only cod4). Most of this is some time ago though, but i'd like to get back in to it. Why I would make a good addition to the team: Right now CoD4 is my goto game. And since raid is one of the only servers rocking on 1.7 it's the only servers i play on. (mac problems). I feel like I'm mature enough to handle such responsibility. I'm online a lot to be monitoring the servers. 2 likesI've just had time to sit down and realise what little things bug me on the deathrun server, so I came up with some small suggestions that could improve the experience. 1. Rules on the Main Menu (ESC MENU), Just a little thing because !rules just generally spams your console and it can be hard to read them 2. Stats on the Main Menu (ESC MENU): At the end of the game you are able to see how many times you've killed someone, how many times you've died etc, would be nice to have a page on the menu to see these stats, see image below for reference. 3. Deathrun settings on the Main Menu (ESC MENU): Any chance we can get this menu back from the original raid? I understand that we can use the B-4 menu but having an menu page for would be a lot more ideal for new players. This menu could be where the current options menu is, with the settings & controls options being within that menu. 4. When spectating players, it would be nice to see who's actually alive and who's a ghost player, a little icon next to the word SPECTATING at the top of the screen would be ideal. This one might be a stretch, however, if you can implement this I would be quite thankful. 5. Timer in ghost mode? 6. I'm always gonna mention this RTV option, however, hear me out. !rtv would be a command that would allow the players to skip the current map and choose from a selection of 3 other maps. ( !1 for map 1 / !2 for map 2 / !3 for map 3) In order to prevent the command being spammed, after you have 'RTVed' a map, you have to wait a minimum of 3-5 maps until you can use it again, additionally when you type !rtv, you would need at least 75% of the server to !rtv too otherwise the vote will not go through. 7. When you B42 make it say <PLAYER> has spontaneously combusted, like in the original raid. This is all I've got for now, but i'll reply with another post if I end up thinking of more

2 likesCSGO Hub and CSGO Servers. Maybe a 1v1 server? The hub could be a great way to get a 5 man queue easily if it gets popular enough. You could also do fun 1v1 events, or unboxings, or anything really. CSGO is a very versatile game when it comes to a community. You could also do a zombie hub, with events where once a week maybe we get some people to play a classic WAW or BO3 map. It would also be a fun discussion area for people dedicated to zombies. If you want a lot of people, GMOD is a really good idea for a hub/servers as well, that game is unbelievably popular and it's deathrun probably won't ever die. We could have really fun events take place, like maybe: Obscurity event: An event where we play the game mode obscurity, which is a horror based gamemode where one person is a ghost like creature that has to kill off every player using special abilities, while the other players try to kill it. Deathrun event: You could do this for cod4 too, but host events where we get a lot of players on for DR. With GMOD though, you can actually give rewards out for certain events. For example, log in during THIS event to earn THIS spray for a limited time only. Zombies event: GMOD also has decent zombies, so we could literally just get a bunch of people on and find a server for zombies.

2 likesSo I've done a tad bit of research (as I'm not too familiar with animations), and it would seem forcing a custom animation on a player model is fairly impossible as all the animation related functions are singleplayer only. Though, I like impossible, so I actually found a way of doing it for stock animations by modifying our custom server patch that should, in theory, work. I haven't tested the method yet so I'm not 100% certain it will work but I have high hopes. I'll look further into it when I'm done with the most important bits of our current (pretty large) to-do list. Also, yes, I'll need someone to port/make me a bunch of animations if this were to become a thing. I cannot into Maya.
